YSRC wants Naidu to face trial without seeking stay
VIJAYAWADA: YSRC state joint secretary Karumuri Venkata Reddy has said Telugu Desam chief N. Chandrababu Naidu should file a defamation case in relation to the I-T notices, if he is “innocent.”
“Chandrababu's silence on I-T notices means acceptance of guilt. Naidu should face trial without seeking a stay,” he said at a media meet he held here on Friday.
Venkata Reddy said Chandrababu looted lakhs of crores while in power and was now caught in the crossfire due to the detection of an unaccounted Rs 118 crore in the Amaravati constructions. “But, Naidu is not responding to the I-T notices.”
He asked Naidu, “If you feel that the I-T department has given false notices, can’t you file a defamation suit against that department? The Centre may be impleaded as defendants and a trial may be sought in court. But you (Naidu) are not doing that due to a fear or worry that if things go deeper, you will be caught in more Amaravati scams.”
