BJP First List for Rajasthan Assembly Polls Released
New Delhi: The BJP on Monday released its first list of 41 candidates for next month’s Rajasthan Assembly polls, which include seven Members of Parliament. Interestingly, the names of former chief minister Vasundhara Raje and former state unit chief Dr Satish Poonia are missing from the first list of candidates for the Assembly polls in the desert state.
The BJP has fielded former Union minister and Lok Sabha MP Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore from Jhotwara Assembly seat, and a member of the erstwhile Jaipur royal family, Rajsamand MP Diya Kumari, will contest from Jaipur’s Vidhyadhar Nagar Assembly constituency.
Polling for 200 members of the Rajasthan Assembly will take place on November 23 and the counting of votes will be on December 3. In a statement, the BJP said the party's central election committee, at its meeting on October 1, approved the names of the following candidates for Rajasthan polls.
The BJP has fielded Lok Sabha member from Jhunjhunu Narendra Kumar from Mandawa, Alwar MP Balak Nath from Tijara, Ajmer MP Bhagirath Choudhary from Kishangarh, Jalore MP Devji Patel from Sanchore and Rajya Sabha member Kirodi Lal Meena from Sawai Madhopur.
The BJP first list also includes four women -- Ms Kumari, Santosh Meghwal from Sujangarh (SC), Krishna Katara from Bagidora (ST) and Rajkumari Jatav from Hindaun (SC). The BJP has fielded former IAS officer Chandramohan Meena from Bassi (ST).
