Bengaluru: Contractors in Karnataka unwilling to take-up works of the State Government fearing to pay about 8 percent to get their pending bills cleared, alleged Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa, besides, also expressed displeasure over the functioning of the State Government which came to power in May this year.
After assessing drought situation near Kerekodi junction in Rajarajeshwari Nagar of Bengaluru on Thursday, Yeddyurappa said to stage a three-day protest against the ruling Congress party led State Government to condemn its functioning in front of Vidhana Soudha or at Freedom Park in Bengaluru City at the end of November and the protest would be warn the State Government over its functioning.
The dates for the protest would be announced later and also chalk out the modalities to stage a protest which would be attended by a large number of party workers.
The protest, he said, would draw the attention of the State Government to various problems to deal with in the State and alleged that the State Government of adopting vengeance against BJP and said that the State Government has stopped works at the half way stage in various Assembly seats especially represented by BJP MLAs.
“If any irregularities are found let it be investigated but stopping works at the half way stage is unacceptable,” he said and accused the State Government of stopping the works at the halfway mark was nothing but an act of vengeance.
Owing to vengeance politics of the State Government, he alleged that “It has become difficult to differentiate between rural and city roads and asked the State Government to stop indulging in politics of vengeance and focus its attention on development.
Former Minister and BJP MLA Munirathna alleged that the previous State Government had sanctioned Rs 126 crore for the development of Rajarajeshwari Assembly seat represented by him and the incumbent Congress led State Government had diverted the funds to other Assembly segments.
