Telangana Assembly polls: KCR declares Rs 58 crore assets
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who filed nominations from Kamareddy and Gajwel on Thursday, declared Rs 58.92 crore as the assets belonging to his wife Shoba and himself. Rao has declared movable assets worth over Rs 17.83 crore and immovable assets whose total current value is about Rs 8.50 crore. Interestingly, he listed agricultural income of Rs 1.44 crore from 53 acres of farmland.
According to the election affidavit submitted on Thursday while filing his nomination for the November 30 Assembly polls, he does not own a car. The gross total value of movable assets in the name of his wife Shobha was over Rs seven crore and his HUF (Hindu Undivided Family) was over Rs 9 crore.
The total current market value of immovable assets in Rao's name was about Rs 8.50 crore, it is about Rs 15 crore in the name of HUF.
The total income was over Rs 34 lakh in the name of HUF as on March 31, 2023 and net agriculture income was over Rs 1.44 crore. The agricultural lands are in the name of HUF.
There are nine cases pending against him, all booked during the Telangana statehood agitation, including for snatching mikes and cameras from journalists and throwing them into the Hussainsagar Lake during the Million March. He also stated that he had not been convicted of any criminal offence.
Rao in the affidavit said he had invested Rs 4.16 crore in Telangana Publishing Limited, Rs 2.31 crore in T News (Telangana Broadcasting Limited). He has 95 grams gold, and diamonds worth Rs 17.4 lakh. Shoba Rao has 2,841 grams gold, 45 kg of silver, and diamonds worth Rs 1.49 crore. The grand total of liabilities of Rao was over Rs 17 crore while that of the HUF was over Rs 7.23 crore.
In 2014, Chandrashekar listed Rs 15 crore properties and Rs 7 crore liabilities and in 2018, Rs 23 crore. The number of cases was 61 in 2014.
Meanwhile, BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and his wife disclosed properties worth Rs 61 crore. Shailiama possesses assets worth Rs 33 crore and Rama Rao has properties valued Rs 17 crore. Rama Rao said he has investments in At Home Hospitality and Telangana Broadcasting.
Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy, who filed his papers from Munugode, is the richest contestant so far. He and his wife Laxmi Reddy possessed Rs 458 crore properties and liabilities at Rs 4.14 crore. His income-tax returns was for Rs 71.17 crore, against Rs 36.55 lakh in 2019. He faces four cases.
As per the affidavit, he invested in Sushee Infra and Mining Limited Rs 239 crore. He does not have a car. Laxmi Reddy has 3,996 grams gold, diamonds and 20 kg of silver worth Rs 2.07 crore. His immovable assets stood at Rs.77 crore and his wife Rs 26 crore.

Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav (BRS): Rs 71 crore properties, no car
Kotha Prabahakar Reddy (BRS, Dubbak): Rs 363 crore properties.
T. Jana Reddy (Congress, Nagarjunasagar): Rs 26 crore properties.
Mohd Azharuddin (Congress, Jubilee Hills): Rs 17 crore asets, nine cases including cheque bounce and cheating.
N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and Padmavathi (Congress, Huzurnagar, Kodad): Uttam Kumar Reddy Rs 6 crore assets and Rs 36 lakh liabilities. Padmavathi Rs 2 crore assets and Rs 48 lakh liabilities.
Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka (Congress, Madhira): Rs 2 crore properties, and his family Rs 4 crore.
