TMC\'s Abhishek gets ED\'s fresh summons on his birthday

Kolkata: Trinamul Congress scion Abhishek Banerjee has been summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning on Thursday again in the West Bengal government school teachers' recruitment scam. He has been directed to appear at the ED office at CGO Complex in Salt Lake.

Banerjee will face the central agency, said state industries minister Shashi Panja on Wednesday after sharing details about the fresh notice to her party's national general secretary on the occasion of his birthday a day before.

She added, "The ED sent a birthday gift to him on Tuesday evening in the form of a notice. Mr Banerjee faced the central agencies whenever called in the past. He gave answers during marathon questioning. TMC is BJP's target. People of Bengal and India are aware of this."

Ms Panja claimed, "The interesting fact is Mr Banerjee gets summons only before the elections. But those who are with BJP do not get summons." Her cabinet colleague Jyotipriyo Mullick who has been in the ED custody in the ration scam, however questioned Mr Banerjee's authority.

"Which Banerjee? I don't know. Abhishek Banerjee? Is he our leader?" the state forest minister wondered when the media asked him about the fresh summons by the ED to chief minister Mamata Banerjee's MP nephew.

Giving himself a clean chit, Mr Mullick then added, "You must be sure that I am innocent in everything. This will come to light in Bankshall Court during my production on November 13. I am very much clean. I have no fault."
