Congress leaders padayatras create confusion among rank and file

Adilabad: The Congress Party’s padayatras undertaken by top leaders of the TPCC have been messed up in the Adilabad region. New is that CLP leader Bhatti Virkramarka would start his padayatra from Ichoda in Boath assembly constituency on March 16. This, while AICC programme implementation committee chairman Alleti Maheshwar Reddy’s padayatra ended abruptly after four days.

TPCC president Revath Reddy is also planning to tour Adliabad after completing his Nizamabad tour. His supporters are designing a route map for his yatra in Adilabad. This craze for padayatras by leaders at individual level widened the differences among them and between the groups in the state party.

Maheshwar Reddy ended his Telangana Congress Praja Poru Yatra abruptly at Mamada on March 6. He had claimed that he would undertake the yatra through 30 -40 assembly constituencies in the state and conclude it in Hyderabad.

Leaders of various groups are making separate efforts to bring their leaders to the Adilabad region to undertake the padayatra and this is creating confusion among the party’s rank and file.

Meanwhile, former minister Ramchandra Reddy has become active, extended his support to Revanth Reddy, and invited him to undertake a padayatra. It is said that senior leaders made Maheshwar Reddy a scapegoat and they are planning their own padayatras.

CLP leader Bhattai Virkamarka, former state party chief Uttam Reddy, former deputy CM Damodhar Raja Narasimha and senior leaders Jeevan Reddy, Kodandareddy, Premsagara Rao and others participated in the launch of the Poru Yatra in Bhainsa on March 3.

Now, senior Congress leaders are planning Bhatti Viramaka’s padayatra so that both the leaders -- Maheshwar Reddy and Premsagar Rao -- would join the yatra in the erstwhile Adilabad district.

It is also said that Maheshwar Reddy has stopped his padayatra abruptly due to non- cooperation from Premsagar Rao in Mancherial district as also Adilabad and Komaram Bheem Asifabad district.
