BRS wants Ranga murder case reopened
Kakinada: Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Andhra Pradesh, president Thota Chandrasekhar on Sunday demanded that the state government re-open Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga murder case and re-investigate it.
Speaking as chief guest at the meeting, where AP home minister Taneti Vanitha unveiled a 15-feet-high statue of Ranga in Dommeru village of Kovvuru mandal in West Godavari district, Chandrasekhar said though Ranga had died 35 years ago, people have not forgotten him.
“He still lives in the hearts of people,” the BRS leader remarked. He pointed out that many people have become leaders in the name of Ranga, but have ignored the way he had been murdered.
Chandrasekhar said home minister Vanitha should take the initiative and order a probe into the death of Ranga.
The BRS leader said Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government is conspiring to privatise Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.
“People should protest against this and protect the steel plant,” he underlined.
