KCR dabbling in national politics with ill-gotten Rs 1 lakh cr: Revanth
Hyderabad: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy on Monday accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of attempting an entry into the national political firmament by utilising ill-gotten wealth to the tune of Rs 1 lakh allegedly acquired through various scams over the last nine years of his rule.
As an example of Rao and his partymen's "looting" and pursuit of national aspirations, Revanth Reddy cited the allotment of government land worth over Rs 1,500 crore at Hitec City to TRS MP and Hetero group chairman B. Parthasaradhi Reddy's NGO for the establishment of a cancer hospital at a throwaway price of rs 1.5 lakh per year lease.
Revanth Reddy went into detail about the land parcel while presenting the documents to the media, alleging that in 2018, Sai Sindhu Foundation, the NGO led by Parthasaradhi Reddy was given 15 acres of HMDA land under Survey No. 41/4 in the Khanamet village of Serilingampally mandal in violation of the rules.
"Following Cabinet approval, the government proceeded and took into consideration the GO Ms 571 (2012) and GO Ms (2015) meant for land allotment policy, for selling the land. Officials who inspected the site and representatives from various departments, including medical and health, proposed that the land be leased. However, when officials suggested 10 acres for a cancer hospital, the government circumvented the rules and gave away 15 acres to an NGO on 60-year lease," he explained.
According to Revanth Reddy, the lease rents should have been Rs 5,346 crore if computed according to the Government Land Allotment Policy, 2012 (the land cost being at a minimum of Rs 500 crore) at 10 per cent enhancement for each block of five years. However, when the concession is calculated, it comes down to Rs 1.47 crore for 60 years. "The annual lease allotment for the 15 acres land at Hitec City is Rs 1.5 lakh. This is the kind of looting that the BRS is engaging in, undermining various departments and their officials," he claimed.
Speaking to the media, Revanth Reddy emphasised that while the BJP had adopted a "corporate model" to finance politics by accepting donations from businesses, Chandrashekar Rao was taking a more dangerous tack with his own version of a "mafia model," in which money was playing a significant role in furthering his national political ambitions.
"Like a political gambler, he is attempting to entice several parties at the national level. He is generating financial resources from land deals which are swiftly changing hands. People need to be aware of this dangerous precedent since it is more dangerous than coronavirus,” he remarked.
The Malkajgiri MP has vowed to expose the BRS government's land scams, including the land allotted to Yashoda Hospital in Hitec City. He claimed that the Hetero group was facing charges of selling remdesivir during the Covid-19 pandemic on the black market, emphasising how “KCR collaborated with scamsters”.
“I-T raids were conducted after the government found that the drug was being sold for Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000 when the actual price was Rs 3,500. Parthasaradhi Reddy got away by using the names of a few employees," Revanth Reddy claimed.
