KCR deceived panchayat secretaries: Etala

WARANGAL: Huzurabad MLA and BJP leader Etala Rajendar accused Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of deceiving the junior panchayat secretaries (JPSs) and outsourcing panchayat secretaries (OPSs) by not regularising their services after promising them to do so in the state Assembly.

Rajendar extended his support to the striking panchayat officials who are on protest for the past 10 days in front of the collectorate office in Karimnagar on Tuesday.

The BJP MLA was accompanied by party district unit chief G. Krishna Reddy and party corporators.

Speaking on the occasion, Rajendar said that the state government recruited the JPSs and OPSs by promising them that their services would be regularised after the completion of four years probation period but it is sad to see the plight of panchayat officials who have been cheated by the state government.

Rajendar said that instead of fulfilling its promise, the state government was issuing notices to the protesting officials who were fighting for their rights. The Chief Minister is behaving like a dictator and threatening the JPSs that they will be terminated from their jobs if they do not stop the protest, the BJP MLA said.

The JPSs played a key role in the maintenance of sanitation and development of the villages and were responsible for getting several national awards to the village panchayats. But the state government is least bothered about them and is not showing any interest in resolving their issues, Rajendar asserted. He demanded the state government fulfil the demand of regularizing jobs of JPSs and OPSs.

BJP leaders Praveen Rao, Shiva Rama Krishna, Kalyan and Lokesh were present.
