TD says YSRC has failed to help farmers

VIJAYAWADA: Telugu Desam AP president K. Atchannaidu on Tuesday accused state government of not helping farmers who have lost their crops due to untimely rains. He went on to charge that state’s ministers are using derogatory words against farmers who want authorities to procure damaged grains.

Atchannaidu spoke after inaugurating the newly constructed Telugu Desam Vijayawada Central constituency office at Ajith Singh Nagar along with former minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao, TD NTR district president Nettem Raghuram and former MLA and Vijayawada TD Central constituency in-charge of Bonda Umamaheswara Rao.

The TD state president said even though farmers have experienced huge damage, neither ministers nor officials have visited or assured farmers. He alleged that Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has been working for past four years with the sole aim of making money. In this context, he said the CM has spent only ₹1.5 lakh crore of the ₹13 lakh crore amount taken in the form of debts.

Atchannaidu said the remaining ₹11.5 crore are being hoarded at Tadepalli and Idupulapaya.

The TD state president emphasised that there is every need to bring back N. Chandrababu Naidu as chief minister of Andhra Pradesh for survival of the state.
TD leaders Kesineni Sivanath and Nagul Meera were among those present.
