Doesn't Suit Any Leader to Criticise Own Country Abroad: Shah Slams Rahul
Patan/Nanded: Union home minister Amit Shah accused Rahul Gandhi of criticising India and discussing its internal politics during his foreign visits. Shah emphasised the importance of discussing Indian politics within the country and urged Gandhi to remember that the people of India are closely watching.
He highlighted the changes brought by the Modi government and criticised the Congress for constantly discussing anti-India matters. Shah also addressed Gandhi’s criticism of the new Parliament building and accused Congress leaders of opposing Prime Minister Modi’s initiatives.
He praised PM Modi’s work in improving the lives of marginalised communities and emphasised India’s progress in various fields. Shah urged the people of Gujarat to support the BJP and ensure victory in all 26 Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming 2024 elections. He referred to the development in Gujarat under Modi’s leadership, which transformed the “Gujarat model” into the “India model.”
Shah called on people to unite and choose between Modi and Gandhi for the prime ministerial position in 2024, highlighting the widespread support for Modi wherever he goes.
In a rally at Nanded, the Union minister said Uddhav Thackeray had agreed on Devendra Fadnavis's name as the Maharashtra CM in 2019, but he betrayed the BJP after the 2019 Assembly elections. The BJP leader further said that the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance has been restored after the formation of the Eknath Shinde government.
Shah said, “In 2019, when I was the BJP president, I had gone to Thackeray at his residence along with Fadnavis. In the meeting, it was decided that Fadnavis will be the CM if the NDA returns to power. Thackeray had agreed to it. But after the results, he joined hands with the Congress and NCP to become the CM himself.”
In 2019, BJP-Shiv Sena alliance had got clear majority by winning 161 out of 288 seats.
However, realising that the BjP (105 seats) cannot form the government without Shiv Sena (56 seats), Thackeray snapped ties with it. He became the chief minister with Congress (45 seats) and NCP (54 seats).
