Left parties to protest Shah's visit to AP

VIJAYAWADA: Communist Party of India state secretary K. Ramakrishna said that the 10 Left parties would oppose the visit of Union home minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders to Visakhapatnam for campaigning the nine years rule of the BJP-led NDA government, on June 11.

The CPI leader alleged that BJP has not done anything for the state and that the BJP leaders have no right to campaign in the state.

Ramakrishna alleged that the central government has ignored the promise of special category status (SCS) for the state. Besides, the implementation of bifurcation assurances, Ramayapatnam Port, Development of Backward Districts in Rayalaseema and Uttarandhra, stopping the privatisation of Visakha Steel Plant and other promises were not fulfilled so far, he added.

The CPI leader said that Left parties aimed at dethroning the Modi government at the Centre and Jagan government in the state. For that, Left Parties will fight against the Central and state governments along with like-minded parties, he added.
