Etala: BRS Deceived on 2BHK Houses
HYDERABAD: The BJP alleged that the BRS government and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao were deceiving the public about construction and distribution of two-bedroom houses.
Leading a protest in Medak, Huzurabad BJP MLA, Etala Rajendar, demanded the distribution of the houses to the underprivileged. He stated, “Out of the BRS' claimed expenditure of Rs 11,000 crore on the housing project, only Rs 500 crore was actually used. Though the government initially pledged to build 2.91 lakh houses, only one lakh were constructed. Among these, a mere 30,000 have been distributed in Siddipet, Gajwel, and Siricilla.”
Rajendar asserted that the state not only failed to allocate the pledged funds for constructing houses but also borrowed Rs 8,600 crore from Hudco and got an additional Rs 1,311 crore from the Centre under the Rural Urban Mission. He questioned the apparent mismanagement of these funds.
Further, Rajendar demanded that beneficiaries of the Gruha Lakshmi scheme receive the originally promised amount of Rs 5 lakh, instead of the recently announced Rs 3 lakh. He stressed on impartial selection of beneficiaries, rather than favouring supporters of the BRS. Rajendar invited support for the BJP, highlighting their commitment to understanding public issues, managing budgets, and fulfilling promises.
