D Srinivas political future hangs in balance
Nizamabad: TRS Rajya Sabha member D. Srinivas is camping in New Delhi for the last few days and it has led to speculations in political circles. The talk is whether Srinivas would join the Congress or BJP. Followers and also political rivals have been keenly observing his movements.
After a rift with the ruling TRS party, Mr Srinivas has been maintaining a silence for the last three months. TRS MLAs, MLCs led by MP K. Kavitha proposed disciplinary action against Rajya Sabha member Mr Srinivas and his son, former mayor D. Sanjay, who was sent to jail after a sexual harassment case.
After this incident, Mr Srinivas wrote a letter to the TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao to initiate action against him or see that the allegations made by party MP, MLAs were dropped.
He used a house warming ceremony in New Delhi to camp there and reportedly got in touch with senior Congress leaders. A section of Congress leaders in Telangana favour Mr Srinivas and have welcomed him into the party fold.
But a few others argue that Mr Srinivas may join the BJP in support of his younger son D.Arvind. It is believed that within 2 or 3 days, there will be clarity.
