Peacemaker KTR Interacts With Those Denied Tickets in Adilabad
ADILABAD: TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao is to play peacemaker and pacify party leaders who are disgruntled since being denied tickets for the ensuing Assembly elections. The damage control exercise is also to ensure that they don’t rebel against official candidates and dent their prospects.
News is that Rama Rao is also keen on getting a feel of the political situation and the prospects of candidates, who are being fielded by the party.
Meanwhile, differences have cropped up between MLAs and those who missed the bus in Mancherial, Chennur and Bellampalli constituencies. Aravind Reddy said, “There will be a positive outcome after our talks with KTR.”
The meeting also assumed importance following news that former MLA Nallala Odelu of Chennur was in touch with BJP’s Etala Rajendar and may defect soon. Odelu and his wife ZP chairperson Bhagyalakshmi had joined the Congress before making a BRS ghar wapsi earlier. But, there are no cordial relations between Odelu and Balka Suman.
Rama Rao reportedly pacified leaders who were showing dissent by promising MLC posts and other positions when the party returns to power. He appears to have asked the party candidates to patch up differences to boost their winning prospects.
Rama Rao interacted with Durgam Chinnaiah, Diwakar Rao and Balka Suman and their opponents Gaddam Aravind Reddy and Puranam Satish. Some party leaders had quit vexed with the autocratic attitude of Suman.
Both Satish and Aravind Reddy made a vain bid for tickets from Mancherial. Aravind Reddy urged the party high command to deny the ticket to Diwakar Rao.
Meanwhile, relations between Suman and Puranam Satish have worsened even as Satish’s support is a must for Suman to win in Chennur as the former is a native of Chennur.
The party high command was shocked at the open defiance in erstwhile Adilabad district.
Rama Rao wanted to meet Chinnaiah against whom one Shejal complained that he had sexually harassed her.
Khanapur candidate Bhukya Johnson Rathod Naik also met Rama Rao, his friend from college days. Boath candidate Anil Jadhav also met Rao.
