KPSC posts sold to fund Congress: HD Revanna
Hassan: The JD(S) nominee for Holenarsipur assembly seat and former minister H.D. Revanna on Thursday alleged a major recruitment scam in Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) under chairman Shyam Bhat saying he had recruited people some as 460 posts through massive corruption.
He added that through his corruption, Mr Bhat has funded Congress party to the tune of Rs 400 - 600 crore. Addressing a press conference, he said posts like Assistant Commissioner were filled by collecting Rs 1 crore Rs 1.5 crorewhile the tahsildar’s post was worth Rs1 crore.
Other posts were filled in this manner too. Revanna did not provide documents to support his allegations. He demanded a CBI probe into the recruitment ‘scam’ in KPSC and also wanted IT officials and Election Commission of India (ECI) officials to monitor the activities of Shyam Bhat. The former minister questioned the rationale of the state in appointing Bhat as KPSC chairman though his name was rejected by the governor thrice.
“He destroyed Bengaluru Development Authority (BDA),” he said adding that the money collected from candidates Shyam Bhat, was transported through a retired police officer Kempaiah.
