MK Stalin unveils statues of Anna, Kalaignar at Tiruchy
Tiruchy: The DMK president M.K. Stalin called upon the party workers to take a vow to achieve a 'big victory' in the ensuing elections to the Tamil Nadu Assembly and in the local bodies polls, as achieved in the recent Lok Sabha elec-tions.
Mr Stalin made this appeal while declaring open a new bronze statue of veteran DMK leader and former minister Anbil Dharmalaingam as part of the centenary celebrations at his native village of Anbil near Tiruchy on Monday. He also called upon the workers to work hard for the strengthening of the party's base further.
Recalling the tireless work towards the party's growth by late Anbil Dharmalaingam, he said, "we should follow his footprints and strengthen the party further.
Mr. Stalin released the centenary celebrations souvenir of Anbil Dharmalaingam, which was received by former DMK Minister and the party's Tiruchy South district secretary K.N. Nehru and Udhayanidhi Stalin.
Later, Mr. Stalin also declared open the life-size statue of late Chief Ministers C N Annadurai and M. Karunanidhi at 'Kalaignar Arivalayam', DMK district headquarters here.
Later in the evening Mr. Stalin addressed a thanks-giving public meeting at Uzhavar Sandhai grounds in the city, where the DMK's alliance party leaders also spoke.
