Congress leaders want old mandal panels continued

HYDERABAD: Congress leaders from Kamareddy gathered at Gandhi Bhavan, the state party headquarters, in Hyderabad and shouted slogans demanding the continuation of the old mandal committees. They also expressed discontent with the appointment of Subhash Reddy's supporters in Yellareddypet and called for the removal of Kamareddy DCC president Kailash Sreenivas Rao.

Supporters of Madan Mohan said they were frustrated that the party had failed to recognise the hard work put in by dedicated members. They criticised the Kamareddy DCC president for not actively participating in party programmes and sought his removal.

In response to the protests, TPCC senior vice-president Mallu Ravi clarified that he did not have the authority to make any changes. He mentioned that the representations received would be presented to the AICC secretaries on July 13.

PCC president A. Revanth Reddy and AICC in-charge Manikrao Thakre would be informed of the situation and they would ultimately make the decision regarding the matter, Ravi said.
