Kamalakar poll case: Bandi appears in HC
HYDERABAD: Former state BJP chief Bandi Sanjay appeared before Telangana High Court in connection with a case he filed challenging the election of minister Gangula Kamalakar.
Sanjay lost to Kamakakar in Karimnagar in the 2018 Assembly polls by a margin of around 14,000 votes. He challenged the election and approached the court, seeking a direction to stating that the returning officer’s declaration was invalid, and to declare him as the winner.
The petition was filed a year after the poll. During the previous hearing, Sanjay was directed to be present in the court and depose. Accordingly, Sanjay appeared before Justice C. Sumalatha and gave his statement.
The case was adjourned to July 21.
