Will provide water for every cent of land, every home: Speaker Tammineni Sitaram
VISAKHAPATNAM: Speaker Tammineni Sitaram said the state government was making efforts to provide water to every cent of agricultural land and provide safe water through taps to every home in the state.
The Speaker inaugurated a ₹50 lakhs scheme for providing drinking water to every home in Belamam village in Amadalavalasa mandal in his home constituency and another scheme worth ₹35 lakhs in Laddlapeta in the same mandal under the Jal Jeevan Mission on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, the Speaker said welfare and development had been the main priorities of the YSRC government, and the state stood as a role model for the other states in the country.
In another event held in Pachipenta in Parvathipuram district, deputy CM and tribal welfare minister Peedika Rajanna Dora released water from the main right canal of Peddagedda Reservoir of Pachipenta mandal on Monday. Water was being released from various projects for the Kharif season. Water is being released to 4,550 acres belonging to 7 villages of Pachipenta mandal and 3,013 acres in 7 villages of Ramabhadrapuram mandal through the right main canal of Pedgededda reservoir. At present, the reservoir has 0.740 TMC of water.
The deputy CM said water was being released in a planned way to provide timely water to the farmers. He said that the government was taking all necessary measures for the welfare of farmers. He mentioned that seeds and fertilisers were being provided to the farmers through Rythu Bharosa Kendras.
