NIZAMABAD: BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind has dared municipal minister KT Rama Rao to send his father and Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, to contest from Nizamabad Parliament constituency in the 2024 elections. People of Nizamabad defeated Kalvakuntla Kavitha in the last Parliament elections and now she is hesitating to contest from here,” he said.
Speaking to the media in New Delhi on Thursday, Arvind refuted the criticism made by minister KTR against him. ‘I am busy with the Parliament session in New Delhi,” he pointed out.
MLC Kavitha hesitated to share dais with her minister brother KTR in Nizamabad, he alleged.
“KTR said they will break the deposits of BJP candidates in coming elections, but he should send his father to Nizamabad, we will show our strength,” Arvind said.
The BRS government gave 15 days’ time to apply for wine shops, but it gave merely three days to apply for the Gruhalaxmi housing scheme, he said.
The BRS party promised to give Rs 3 lakh per house construction in the 2018 assembly election manifesto but its government did not release the funds so far. Neither did it allot the 2BHK houses nor gave the people Rs 3 lakh for house constructions in the last nine years, he said.
The MP said Kalvakuntla family members encouraged Velama community members in the police department, to facilitate land settlements in and around Hyderabad. KCR and KTR changed their language after the BJP haunted them, he added.
The BJP MP said that he never commented on Hindu-Muslim relations. “I am not an accidental MP as was alleged by KTR. I got a 75,000 votes majority. KTR got elected as MLA in the 2009 assembly elections with a 171 votes majority and the ‘accidental MLA’ tag would be applicable for KTR,” he said.
