Rushikonda resort development biggest violation, says PK

Visakhapatnam: Calling the Rushikonda hill resort development a biggest violation of law, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan told the media at the beach that the protector of law – the CM -- has become the biggest violator.

Boarding a media van at Rushikonda on Friday evening, Pawan said the hill resort has been protecting the Rushikonda village for centuries from natural calamities like tidal waves and Tsunamis.

“Such a precious hill is being destroyed for the official residence of the Chief Minister. He could have built it at the Circuit House or Kirlampudi but he did not, because he wanted to mortgage them,’’ Pawan said.

He said though the High Court had said the violation was small, it appeared big to him.

Stating that the three-capitals concept was a farce, the Sena leader said that so far, only a Upa Lokayukta office was shifted to Kurnool.

Jagan Mohan Reddy also exploited the Telangana people but the people forced him to leave their land, he said.

“Now Jagan Mohan Reddy is focusing on north Andhra to exploit its wealth as he found the people there are peace-loving and calm,’’ Pawan said.

Earlier, there was suspense over Pawan Kalyan’s visit to Rushikonda for a field study. There were rumors the police were not giving the permission for the visit. Initially, the programme was fixed at 11 am but it was deferred to 3 pm.

Party general-secretary Tammireddy Siva Sankar said Pawan Kalyan has the constitutional right to visit a public place like Rushikonda and there was no need for permission. “If police restrict our visit, then the government will face repercussions,’’ Siva Sankar warned.

Finally, the police allowed five vehicles to follow the Varahi convoy from RK Beach to Rushikonda. There were hundreds of people in their vehicles but the police stopped them at different points.

This is for the second time Pawan Kalyan visited Rushikonda. On November 12 last year, he made a surprise visit to the place but did not enter the site. He viewed the ongoing construction from TTD temple located opposite to Rushikonda.
