Kochi: Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) would operate special services from Bangalore to various destinations like Kozhikode and Kottayam to facilitate Keraliites there to cast their votes back home during the assembly polls scheduled on May 16.
“We’ll operate Silver Line Jet services from Bangalore to Kozhikode and Kottayam on Friday evening and Saturday. We’re also considering deploying an additional service to Thrissur on these days based on the availability of buses. Special services to Bangalore from destinations like Kozhikode, Thrissur and Kottayam will be operated on May 16 evening to facilitate their return,” a senior KSRTC official said.
The online reservation for these buses can be done from Thursday onwards. No flexi charges will be levied and only normal charges need to be doled out for travel in the buses.
A heavy rush is being witnessed ahead of the polls on next Monday as already no seats are available in the multi-axle luxury buses of the Corporation on week-end days.
