Dinesh Gundu makes maiden visit to Mangaluru

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has assured to ensure law and order and foster harmony for the district's development.

On Sunday, the minister was on his maiden visit to Mangaluru since assuming office.

"Development is our top priority. It is important that all government programmes are implemented efficiently and reach their intended beneficiaries. We will take the necessary measures to achieve this goal," Dinesh Gundu Rao told reporters.
Emphasizing the significance of law and order, he added that the government aims to establish a district that is characterized with peace and harmony as it is vital for the region's development.

"When peace and harmony prevail, investors are drawn to invest here, effectively boosting trade and business. We have witnessed incidents in the past that disrupted law and order. It is essential that police officials adopt strict and unbiased measures, providing an environment conducive to peace and harmony within the region," he said.

He also called upon all elected representatives to shoulder the responsibility in this endeavour.

"It is easy to ignite conflicts, but restoring peace is a challenging task. Therefore, the cooperation of all political parties and organizations is necessary. We are all like brothers, and nurturing harmony is the collective responsibility of everyone. Our government will make every effort to foster such an environment," he added.

Questioned about fulfilling the assurances made by the Congress party in its manifesto, Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao assured that all promises would be fulfilled within five years. Acknowledging the immediate priority given to the implementation of the five guarantee schemes, which are currently being enforced, he assured that the remaining commitments would be addressed in due time.

"Our government is yet to complete a month in office. We have prioritized the swift realization of the guarantee schemes, which are currently being enforced. As for the other assurances in the manifesto, we will carefully assess how and when they can be accomplished. However, I assure you that all promises will be fulfilled within five years. Our manifesto holds utmost importance and is not merely an empty promise for garnering votes," he declared.

During his visit, Minister Gundu Rao held discussions with officials and surveyed areas affected by sea erosion in and around Someshwar. He promised to conduct a detailed review meeting next week to discuss all ongoing projects in Dakshina Kannada.
