ADILABAD: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has been dropping hints, through his gestures and actions, about some MLAs possibly not getting the ticket for the elections, during his district meetings.
They cited the Mancherial public meeting as one such case, where the Chief Minister did not name MLAs Durgam Chinnaiah or Diwakar Rao during his speech, and also refused to be felicitated by them.
On the other hand, Chandrashekar Rao summoned senior BRS leader V. Satyanarayana Goud for a meeting at Pragathi Bhavan, which gained significance in the backdrop of BRS leader K. Srihari Rao skipping the Chief Minister’s public meeting in Nirmal on June 4.
Sources said that relations between minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy and K. Srihari Rao have been strained for a long time.
The CM’s refusal could also be because Chinnaiah, Bellampalli MLA, faces allegations of sexual harassment by an Origin Dairy representative, who has approached the National Women’s Commission.
Sources said that although former MLA Aravind Reddy was absent from the Mancherial meeting, he had worked hard to make arrangements for the Chief Minister’s visit.
Sources said these developments indicated taht hat Chandrashekar Rao would drop some MLAs and pick someone from among the aspirants.
NRI Bhukya Jonson Naik of Khanapur, former MLC Puranam Satish of Mancherial and senior leader Loka Bhuma Reddy of Adilabad tried to get the Chief Minister’s attention during his visits to Nirmal and Mancherial.
