TS Govt Not Expediting Amberpet Flyover Works: Kishan

HYDERABAD: Works on construction of a flyover in Amberpet is facing hurdles because of non-cooperation of the state government, Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said here on Wednesday. Kishan Reddy, also the state BJP president, who inspected the current work status of the flyover – part of National Highway 202 – and being built by the Central government, said the very purpose of the flyover is being undermined as the state government was not helping the NHAI in
beginning the work at a Muslim graveyard.

The flyover was planned to overcome the bottleneck caused by the Muslim
graveyard. But after initially agreeing to ensure work can go ahead, the
state government has not done anything. “The government must speak to the
Muslim community and ensure work can progress. Permissions are not being
given for work on pillars at the graveyard,” Kishan Reddy said.

He was speaking to the media after visiting the Mahankali temple in Amberpet
along with his wife and offering prayers at the temple.

Kishan Reddy also said that some land acquisition was also pending that was
further holding up the flyover work and urged the state government to tackle
these issues so that the work can be completed.
