Andhra Pradesh ministers seek big chambers
Amaravati: Full functioning of the Temporary Secretariat Interim Government Complex got further delayed.
Ministers’ reluctant to shift to the temporary Secretariat seeking spacious chambers has led to the delay.
The government hoped functioning of temporary Secretariat in full form from August last week. The ministers are complaining about their tiny chambers and showing reluctance to shift and seeking modification of the chambers.
The public are angry over the delaying the functioning of the temporary Secretariat due to petty reasons and opposing the adamant behaviour of the ministers and the officials.
Barring some ministers, majority of the ministers are dissatisfied with the chambers. They lodged a complaint with the CRDA vice-president and minister for municipal administration P. Narayana about the tiny chambers and sought their modification. Mr Narayana also agreed for the modification and said it would take some more time.
According to the CRDA officials, the modification of ministers’ chambers will take at least one or two months. So the full functioning of the temporary Secretariat is not possible by August-end.
The pooled farmers who offered their farmlands to the CRDA under Land Pooling Scheme (LPS) used to attend the office openings every time but now they are disappointed with the non-working of offices.
Pooled farmers, R. Seshagiri Rao and others claimed that they had sacrificed their livelihood and struggling to live with Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 annuity per year given by the government but adjusting for the sake of the world-class new capital Amaravati.
They alleged that the government was offering five days work a week, special train, hostel facility, food arrangements, seats in the private/corporate schools for children, special buses to the temporary Secretariat, subsidised Anna canteen and others but the Secretariat employees are still showing causes to work from the temporary Capital.
They expressed severe protest to the objections of the minsters about their chambers.
They said that ministers P. Pulla Rao, P. Narayana, R. Kishore Babu and others came to their villages, conducted meetings and asked them to adjust and cooperate with the government towards offering their farmlands, but now they are unable to adjust to work.
Meanwhile, ministers, Mr Kishore Babu and Mr Narayana said they will occupy their offices after their modification.
