Me too a victim of KU officials: Seethakka

The varsity officials were selling Ph.D. seats instead of allotting them as per merit, she said

WARANGAL: Mulugu MLA Seethakka of the Congress party alleged that she was also one of the victims of the officials of Kakatiya University as she was denied admission into the Ph.D. program even though she had met all eligibility criteria.

She extended her support to the student leaders of KU-JAC, who were staging a dharna on the premises of SDLCE in Hanamkonda on Monday.

The MLA said that KU produced many eminent personalities who led several movements and stood as an inspiration for future generations. Unfortunately, after the formation of Telangana, the BRS government killed that spirit and was suppressing the voice of students for questioning irregularities taking place in the university. The varsity officials were selling Ph.D. seats instead of allotting them as per merit, she said.

She alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched under the ruling of the BRS government to deprive the poor and weaker sections of higher education. Instead of providing quality education, the government was advising students to rear sheep and buffaloes, said the MLA, who faulted the police for subjecting the students to third-degree torture at the behest of varsity officials.

Extending Congress support to the students and their bandh call, she demanded the immediate suspension of the V-C and the registrar of the university.
