Some leaves fall, new leaves grow back: Revanth on Maheshwar
HYDERABAD: Former Nirmal MLA A. Maheshwar Reddy’s decision to quit the party prompted TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy to compare it to autumn leaf fall, stating that leaves fall, giving plants a fresh start in the spring, and new leaves grow in their place.
"I was unaware that Maheshwar Reddy had left the party. It did not come to my notice. When autumn arrives, some leaves fall and new leaves emerge as the season changes. I don’t think it is a topic of debate anymore,” he remarked.
In response to BJP state incharge Tarun Chug's claims that many more will follow Maheshwar Reddy's footsteps and leave the Congress to join the BJP, Revanth Reddy sarcastically asked whether he was a PRO of the Congress. "Who is he, and from which village he comes from? Is he a PRO of the Congress,” he asked.
Earlier in the day, PCC senior vice-president Mallu Ravi claimed that Maheshwar Reddy's decision to join the BJP was well-planned, claiming that he had been in communication with the BJP leaders for the past two years. "Maheshwar Reddy is assisting in the cleaning of the Congress and will pollute the BJP. Our party will undoubtedly win a two-thirds majority in the upcoming general elections. Only the Congress can restore democracy and the rule of law in Telangana state and India," he remarked.
