Solar report suspicious, says IUML
MALAPPURAM: The Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has decided to intensify the campaign against the Solar Commission report across the state. The decision was taken by its state secretariat at a meeting held at the IUML office here on Sunday.
Addressing a press conference after the meeting, Muslim League leaders Sayed Hyderali Shihab Thangal, E.T. Muhammed Basheer, K.P.A. Majeed and P.K. Kunhalikkutti, MP, said that the Commission’s report is suspicious and also went beyond the terms of reference.
A letter written by Saritha Nair, who has lost all credibility, has been given much importance in the Commission’s final report, the leaders said.
The party, which is an integral part of the Opposition UDF combine, would fight along with other UDF constituents to find out the truth, the leader said at the press meeting.
They vowed to defeat the LDF conspiracy to tarnish the image of UDF leaders through political and legal means.
The report by Justice G. Sivarajan commission that probed the multi-crore scam was tabled in the state Assembly last Thursday by Pinarayi Vijayan. The report raised serious allegations against former chief minister Oommen Chandy.
