PK booked for sitting on top of running car
VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, his car driver and others were booked at Tadepalli police station in Guntur district.
The Jana Sena president was booked for sitting on top of a running car during his visit to Ippatam village of Tadepalli mandal in a convoy of vehicles, to express his solidarity with the villagers, whose houses and compound walls were partially demolished for road widening works on November 5 under sections 336 and 279 of IPC read with 177 MV Act.
His car driver was also booked on charges of driving the car in a rash and negligent manner.
The complainant P. Siva Kumar, working as a clerk at a Kirana shop and hailing from Morrispeta of Tenali lodged a complaint with the police on November 10 stating that when Pawan Kalyan was proceeding to Ippatam village in a convoy of vehicles by sitting on top of his car at high speed, he was proceeding to his relatives’ house at about 9.30 am on November 5.
As the convoy of vehicles followed by other vehicles of the party leaders and supporters were going on the road at high speed, he failed to control his bike and fell down on the road. He sought action against Pawan Kalyan, his driver and others.
