Wives are Richer Than Husbands Contesting in TS polls

Hyderabad: Wives of political leaders from the state, especially of those in the ensuing poll fray, are richer than their husbands.

BRS party working president K.T. Rama Rao's wife K. Shailima is richer than him though she also has more liabilities than her husband.

The data became available in affidavits filed by the candidates for the Assembly November 30 elections. While Rama Rao listed assets worth Rs17.33 crore, Shailima had Rs 33.91 crore worth properties, he said in his affidavit. Her liabilities are at Rs 11.22 crore while Rao has liabilities of Rs 67 lakh. Shailima has equity shares worth '1.53 crore in ETG Global Services and shares of Rs 2.99 crore in At Home Hospitality services while investments in Alekhya Ventures and sundry assets amount to Rs 2.49 crore.

Shailima has borrowed Rs 8.72 crore from Bank of Baroda, Rs 1.50 crore from P. Sri Suma and Rs 1 crore from Gedela Surya Kumar, according to Rama Rao’s affidavit.

BJP leader Etala Rajendar said that his wife Etala Jamuna had assets worth Rs 40.48 crore, while his own stood at Rs 9.24 crore. Rajendar has Rs 3.48 crore in liabilities while Jamuna’s liabilities stand at Rs 15.51 crore.

Congress leader Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy put his wife Madhuri assets at Rs 406.78 crore, while he listed the value of his properties at Rs 88.48 crore.

BRS Dubbak candidate Kotha Prabhakar Reddy's wife Manjulatha is richer with Rs 185.48 crore worth properties while his assets were put at Rs 91.87 crore. Manjulatha has Rs 6.91 crore in liabilities, while her husband’s liabilities are to the tune of Rs 5.88 crore.
