MP Balashowry Quits YSRC, to Join Jana Sena
Vijayawada: Senior YSRC leader and Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashowry on Saturday resigned after realising that he is not going to get the YSRC party ticket either for Lok Sabha or state assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh.
Balashowry sent his resignation to YSRC president and Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, stating that he was quitting his Lok Sabha membership and the party.
Incidentally, Balashowry had been given a hint last year itself that he might not be getting the MP ticket. He has been in regular confrontation with former minister Perni Venkatramaiah alias Nani, who is also the local MLA. Nani’s followers have obstructed him several times while attending official programmes. The MP has also made serious allegations against Nani.
Making matters worse, Balashowry has not been in good terms with other YSRC MLAs representing various assembly seats in his Lok Sabha jurisdiction.
Taking to X, the MP confirmed his intention of joining the Jana Sena party led by Pawan Kalyan. " I will join the Jana Sena Party," he announced on X on Saturday. Sources say he is likely to join JS on Sunday, January 14.
