KT Rama Rao slams NDA govt for bias against Telangana
HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti working president K.T. Rama Rao on Wednesday lashed out at the BJP-led NDA government for its “step-motherly treatment” towards Telangana state.
In his address to the party cadre in Secunderabad parliamentary constituency, Mr Rama Rao said, “Modi said sab ka saath sab ka vikas, but for Telangana state he only gave haath (hand).” He added that despite several requests from the TRS leaders to the Centre to confer national project status to Kaleshwaram and sanction a special grant for it, the Centre never responded to the demands.
Mr Rama Rao said, “We had asked for 100 acres of defence land to construct two flyovers in Secun-derabad. In exchange, we offered 500 acres in Shamirpet, but the Centre turned a blind eye to our request.”
Mr Rama Rao also recalled that he and Mr Padma Rao, former minister, made multiple requests for the allocation of 8 acres of railway land in Secunderabad for the construction of double bedroom houses for the poor, but it was also not considered by the Centre.
He alleged that the Prime Minister also failed to fulfil the promises of creating 10 crore jobs and bringing back black money.
