Revanth predicts Congress win in Karnataka and Telangana
MANCHERIAL: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy claimed on Friday that the Congress would form government in Karnataka and later in Telangana as it did in Himachal Pradesh, under the leadership of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge.
Revanth termed Kharge as a ‘Hyderabad Bidda’ from a Karnataka area that was part of the erstwhile Hyderabad state. “We will focus on development of the backward Adilabad region once our party gains power in Telangana,” he said.
Addressing a Congress meeting in Mancherial, Renvath Reddy said Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao cheated the Dalits with false promises. He called KCR a ‘Meka Vanne Puli’.
The Congress leader recalled the incidents of attacks on Dalits in Sircilla, removal of the Dalit deputy chief minister on corruption charges and detaining the farmers in handcuffs in Khammam.
“Why is the Chief Minister not removing the corrupt MLAs and ministers, and why is he protecting his son and daughter facing corruption charges and ED-CBI investigations,” Revanth asked.
He recalled that KCR had once said he would not tolerate even his family members if they got involved in corruption and, if so, would send them to jail.
The Congress leader questioned why KCR installed the 125-feet B.R. Ambekar statue after nine years and after “realising that the dalits of Telangana would not spare him if he cheated them again.” He alleged that KCR installed the statue in the wake of elections to get the votes of the dalits.
Revanth Reddy promised to give LPG cylinder to families for Rs 500, free health checkups and health cover for upto Rs 5 lakh under Aarogyasri, and crop loan waiver of Rs 2 lakh.
