Hyderabad: Former TPCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah who had gone to Delhi to meet the party leadership reportedly as he was unhappy at not being given his due, returned to the city and met senior Congress leader K. Jana Reddy at his residence on Sunday.
Sources close to Lakshmaiah said the meeting went on for close to four hours. Various political developments and measures to strengthen the party are reported to have been discussed at the meeting. Lakshmaiah had said he was unhappy at not being consulted while taking decisions in the state unit.
Lakshmaiah was also reported to be unhappy with the appointment of Kommuri Pratap Reddy as Jangaon district Congress committee president. Both Lakshmaiah, who is a veteran in the party, and Pratap Reddy are vying for the ticket for the MLA Jangaon Assembly constituency.
