TRS government in its last throes: BJP
HYDERABAD: A day after TRS MLA Shakil Aamir reaffirmed his loyalty to the party leadership after planning to defect to the BJP, Nizamabad MP D. Arvind maintained that the TRS government was on a ventilator in the ICU and its revival is not possible.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Mr Arvind said he was not sure why Mr Shakil had changed his stand of joining the BJP on Thursday night. “He had personally met me and spoke about being upset and disappointed with KCR and KTR for not giving him a chance in the cabinet. Later in the evening, he addressed KCR as 'godfather'. It seems he was pressured into saying that,” the BJP MP stated.
Mr Arvind said Mr Shakil is not the only MLA disappointed with the TRS. There are several others who are considering switching to the BJP. “Leaders from the Congress, TD and TRS are more than welcome to join BJP and serve the people under the leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah,” he declared.
Asked whether his father, TRS Rajya Sabha member D. Srinivas would join the BJP, Mr Arvind replied: “That is his own decision. He might be waiting for the right time. But he is not happy with TRS and its family rule, and he has not got the deserved respect from KCR.”
He said pensions of many beedi workers had been stopped by the department due to petty spelling mistakes. The BJP is rectifying the same in Nizamabad district by organising a rectification drive, so that the eligible are not deprived of their rights.
Replying to a question about his promise of getting National Turmeric Board and MSP for turmeric and red jowar, he said: “We are working on it day and night. The BJP will soon set up the National Turmeric Board and fulfil its promise.”
