Chhattisgarh: Priyanka Holds Road Show in Raipur 4 Days Ahead of Polls
RAIPUR: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday staged a massive road show here to drum up support for her party in the second and final phase of assembly elections in Chhattisgarh, scheduled to be held on November 17.
Her nearly three-km-long road show started from Rajiv Gandhi square in the city and ended in Telghani.
Mounted on a decorated open vehicle along with chief minister Bhupesh Baghel and Congress candidates of four assembly constituencies under Raipur division, she was seen waving to the surging crowds along the route of her roadshow.
She paid tribute to her father, former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, before setting out on her road show.
Her roadshow covered areas under four assembly constituencies of Raipur South, Raipur West, Raipur North and Raipur Rural.
People were seen greeting her from their balconies by waving Congress flags when she was passing through their areas during her roadshow.
“The roadshow evoked huge response from the people in Raipur”, a Congress spokesman said.
Congress currently holds three out of four seats under Raipur division.
Twenty out of 90 assembly constituencies in Chhattisgarh went to assembly polls in the first phase on November seven.
The remaining 70 seats are going to polls on November 17.
