KCR Contesting Kamareddy to Grab Farmland: Revanth
Nizamabad, Warangal: TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy on Tuesday accused Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao of planning to grab farmers’ lands, alleging this was his motive to contest from the Kamareddy seat.
“On the pretext of a new master plan in Kamareddy municipality, KCR tried to grab the lands of farmers. Following the backlash from farmers, he temporarily set it aside,” he said.
Revanth Reddy was addressing a campaign meeting at Kamareddy, where he is taking on the Chief Minister. Earlier in the day, he ahd campaigned at Station Ghanpur, in support of Singapuram Indira, and Wardhannapet, in support of K.R. Nagaraju.
Speaking at corner meetings in Reddypet, Isaipet, Fareedpet, Machareddy and Palvancha villages, the TPCC chief accused Rao of grabbing land of poor families. “Congress high command directed me to hunt KCR… If you (people) support me, we will chase KCR away from Kamareddy.”
Rao enjoyed all posts for the past 40 years, but never remembered his ancestral Konapur village in Kamareddy Assembly constituency, Revanth Reddy said.
“Congress will end the political life of KCR from Konapur itself. All sections of people, especially unemployed youths, were cheated by KCR. All problems of people will be sorted out when KCR is thrown out from power,” he said.
Farmers were unable to get even Rs 2,000 per quintal of paddy, but paddy from Rao’s farmhouse sold for Rs 4,250 per quintal. “KCR should take oath at Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple, if my allegation is wrong,” Revanth Reddy said.
Emphasising the relatively better effort of the Congress to ensure women’s representation, he said: “When the BRS government gave MLA tickets to six women, the Congress nominated 12 women. When job aspirant M. Pravallika committed suicide, the BRS government dragged her family onto the road.”
“The coming Assembly elections are being held between the police (Congress) and thieves (BRS and BJP). People should decide to which side they want to take and to which party they want to give power,” he said.
At Station Ghanpur, Revanth Reddy questioned the credibility of BRS leaders T. Rajaiah and K. Srihari. “KCR, who had given them Deputy Chief Minister posts, removed them after knowing about their character. When KCR does not believe in them, how can people have faith in them?” Revanth Reddy said.
He accused Rajaiah and Srihari of making derogatory comments against Congress’ woman candidate.
Taking aim at minister Dayakar Rao, he said: “KCR’s promises have not been fulfilled during his 10 years of ruling. He only gave posts to his family members and made one foolish person Dayakar Rao a minister. When village sarpanchs are committing suicides, unable to get their dues, Dayakar Rao advised them to sell liquor bottles to generate funds.”
He promised the Station Ghanpur voters to sanction a 100-bed hospital and a degree college after Congress formed the government.
“How Sisupala in Mahabharata dies after committing 100 mistakes, in the same way, CM KCR also completed committing 100 mistakes and it is the time to get rid of him in the coming Assembly elections,” he said.
In Wardhannapet, Revanth Reddy accused BRS MLA Aroori Ramesh of grabbing land under the guise of land pooling. “Keeping in view the elections, the BRS government kept the land pooling process on hold by issuing a GO. If people elect Ramesh, he will grab all land.”
“KCR constructed a palace (Gadi) with 600 rooms in Gajwel and KTR constructed a big palace (Gadi) investing Rs 100 crore in Janwadi by looting the public money,” the TPCC chief said.
