Close ranks to win local body polls: Pocharam tells BRS leaders
NIZAMABAD: Former Assembly Speaker and BRS MLA Pocharam Srinivas Reddy urged the party leaders to sink differences and work collectively for good results in the coming local body elections.
“There are no political opponents in Banswada Assembly constituency, but within the BRS, a few leaders are quarrelling. We will finalise the tickets for local body elections considering the opinions of all”, he said.
After being elected as MLA for the record 7th time, Pocharam held a thanksgiving meeting in Banswada on Wednesday. Former MLA Katthera Gangadhar, Rythu Bandhu district president Anji Reddy and others took part. Speaking at the meeting, the MLA said that the jinx on the defeat of the Assembly Speaker proved wrong with his victory.
The blessings of the people of the constituency and the hard work of BRS leaders and activists made me MLA for the 7th time, he said. “I am the oldest politician in the entire Telangana Assembly and after BRS chief K. Chandrashekar Rao, I won more times as MLA”, Srinivas Reddy said. “I am 75 years old now, but can work as a 25-year-old youth. We will question the Congress government if it fails to implement its poll promises", he said.
