ANANTAPUR: Amid the controversy over his alleged nude video call to a woman, Hindupur MP Gorantla Madhav received a grand reception when he reached Anantapur on Sunday after attending the session of Parliament in New Delhi.
The MP, who is scheduled to take part in Independence Day celebrations at Puttaparti in Satya Sai district on Monday, was received by a large number of his supporters at Pullur toll plaza on the border of Kurnool and YSRC districts. He was driven to Anantapur in a convoy of 300 vehicles.
Police authorities of Kurnool, Anantapur and Satya Sai districts are on alert following a call given by TD to oppose the tainted MP’s entry into Anantapur. Anantapur police put several TD leaders under house arrest to avoid any untoward incidents.
Gorantla Madhav told media that the video is morphed. “As per preliminary investigation, the video is not original and has been morphed and circulated by iTDP group on WhatsApp. If I release similar videos of TD leaders, are they ready to face the consequences,” he asked.
The MP asked TD leaders to wait for the report of investigation being carried out by police.
Meanwhile, Satya Sai police have increased their vigil in Puttaparti anticipating possible protests by TD cadres when Madhav participates in I-Day celebrations in the town on Monday.
