Karnataka: BJP MLA Yatnal says Congress govt's downfall is imminent

Vijayapura: Senior BJP MLA Basangouda Patil Yatnal has confidently asserted that the Congress government's downfall is imminent, paving the way for BJP's ascension to power even before the Lok Sabha elections.

Patil made these predictions while addressing a party event held in Vijayapura on Sunday night.

Yatnal urged a more receptive stance from officials towards the voices of MLAs.
"Let it be known that we will be assuming power by January. While the Congress' guarantee extends only until March. We anticipate their collapse even before the Lok Sabha elections. It's evident that internal disquiet has gripped the Congress, given the sudden silence of two Ministers from Vijayapura over the past month," he said.

"Discontentment brews amongst Congress MLAs due to their dissatisfaction with the Ministers. Such sentiments have been voiced openly by some of their own. Siddaramaiah's focus remains fixed on fulfilling guarantees, while development funds remain withheld," he said.

In response, IT-BT, Rural Development, and Panchayat Raj Minister Priyank Kharge delivered a swift retort, confidently reaffirming the strength of the Congress government in Karnataka.

"Our Congress government is strong. Our unwavering commitment lies in the pursuit of financial and social equality across the state," he said.

Addressing the remarks made by Patil, Kharge continued to defend his party, stating.

"Let them pursue their strategies as they see fit. I challenge them to actualize their intentions. Are they contemplating imposing President's Rule, or are they hoping to replicate a situation similar to Manipur? I advise Patil to focus on his own party before casting judgment on ours. Internal turmoil within the BJP is undeniable. Let us witness how many will remain steadfast within their ranks in the forthcoming six months," he challenged.
