Hyderabad: Reminding that he had worked as Nizamabad BJP president in the past, TRS MLA Shakil Aamir on Saturday said that he saw nothing wrong in meeting BJP MP D. Arvind.
Speaking to the media in the Assembly lobbies, Mr Shakil said:“If I want to change the party, I won’t hide it. I am not scared of anyone.” He added that Mr Arvind was his neighbour and said: “What’s wrong in meeting my neighbour? His father D. Srinivas also visits my residence.”
Mr Shakil added that some of his followers were happy with the rumours and believed that it would be better if he changed the party.
However, he condemned the rumours that he planned to join the BJP and asked “How can you imagine a Muslim MLA will join the BJP?”
Mr Shakil also rejected rumours that he faced some cases. “If anyone proves that I face a single case, I will resign as MLA. I was acquitted in the two cases against me in the past.”
