KCR Must Visit All Govt Hospitals Before Making Tall Claims: Arvind
HYDERABAD: The BJP on Friday demanded that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao visit government hospitals to check for himself the state of affairs, and take stock of medical, para-medical and support staff vacancies there.
Addressing a press conference, BJP Nizamabad MP Arvind Dharmapuri said, “Government hospitals have rats and dogs running around, patients suffer from rat bites, Osmania General Hospital leaks and gets flooded every time it rains, and a six-month-old baby was stolen from the Niloufer Hospital. The CM should also visit all the district hospitals to see how they are before making tall claims.”
Demanding a White Paper on government hospitals and the staff situation, Arvind said the Chief Minister decided to inaugurate the nine new colleges and talk about achievements in healthcare only with an eye on the elections. “The state government did not spend a single paisa for the new colleges. The funds used, '233 crore, are part of a Central grant of '5,200 crore to Telangana, given as part of the Centre’s policy of having one government medical college in each district of the country,” he said.
