Pawan's unfruitful BJP stint makes him return to TD: Peddireddy

Reddy expressed confidence that YSRC will secure victory in the upcoming elections

KURNOOL: Energy minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy on Thursday said Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan's comments about his alliance with Telugu Desam Party in the upcoming elections shows that the JS president’s association with BJP has not helped the film star as expected.

“Consequently, Pawan has now decided to align with the Telugu Desam,” the minister remarked.

Interacting with media, he pointed out that Pawan Kalyan has been associated with Telugu Desam from the very beginning. Ramachandra Reddy, categorically maintained that TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has been booked in the skill development scam case as the former CM had signed the documents related to the fraud.

He expressed confidence that YSRC will secure victory in the upcoming elections, regardless of any political alliances that Naidu may form along with N. Balakrishna, popular star and MLA from HIndupur.

Earlier, Telugu Desam protestors attempted to obstruct the convoy of the minister when he arrived to attend the meeting of the irrigation advisory board in Anantapur on Thursday.

TD leaders and activists are staging a relay hunger strike at the collectorate to protest against the arrest of their party chief. When they observed the minister’s convoy approaching the area, they attempted to block it. This led to a commotion, which prompted police to intervene and clear the way.
