Telangana Congress Intensifies Campaign For Six Guarantees
ADILABAD/ KHAMMAM: Three candidates from the erstwhile Adilabad district and two candidates from erstwhile Khammam found a place in the first list of candidates announced by the All India Congress Committee on Sunday.
Supporters of the candidates are in a jubilant mood and are all set to intensify the campaign, especially for the six guarantee schemes in their respective constituencies.
The party will field former Minister Gaddam Vinod from Bellampalli (SC) and former MLC Kokkirala Premsagar Rao from Mancherial and K.Srihari Rao who recently joined the Congress from BRS from Nirmal in the erstwhile Adilabad district.
Meanwhile, CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka will be contesting from Madhira (SC) and sitting MLA Podem Veeraiah from Bhadrachalam (ST) in the erstwhile Khammam district.
In the last elections, Gaddam Vinod contested on BSP ticket from Bellampalli and was defeated by a thin margin while Srihari Rao was denied a party ticket and extended his support to Minister Allola Indrakaran Reddy in the last elections in Nirmal.
In 2018, Podem Veeraiah shifted to Bhadrachalam and got elected when he was denied a party ticket from Mulugu of the erstwhile Warangal district. The party has given a ticket to Seethakka from Mulugu.
K. Premsagar Rao said the party has already started the election campaign in the Mancherial Assembly Constituency and claimed that several local leaders and workers of the BRS are interested in joining the Congress.
