Corporator to Quit Congress
In the 2020 GHMC elections, the Congress had won only two wards: A.S. Rao Nagar and Uppal
Hyderabad: Congress A.S. Rao Nagar corporator Shirisha Reddy and her husband, state Congress secretary Singireddy Somasekhar Reddy, said they that they had decided to quit the Congress and would announce their decision on Sunday.
"Somasekhar Reddy was trying for the Uppal ticket, but the Congress is likely to field Uppal corporator Madumula Rajitha Reddy’s husband Parmeshwar Reddy,” explained a party leader from the Uppal constituency.
In the 2020 GHMC elections, the Congress had won only two wards: A.S. Rao Nagar and Uppal.
The party secured two more, Lingojiguda via a bypoll and by the defection of BRS corporator P. Vijaya Reddy.
