Step in Husnabad after showing development: Ponnam to CM

Karimnagar: Congress former MP Ponnam Prabhakar on Saturday questioned Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao why he failed to develop Husnabad when he considered the constituency as a sentiment in terms of elections.

Speaking at a press meet in Husnabad, he said there were no signs of any development in the constituency, compared to that of Gajwel, Siddipet and Sircilla, asking why the sub-court was not sanctioned to Husnabad.

He asked why the voters should vote for BRS when its chief KCR failed to complete the construction of the Gouravelli project as he promised. The Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy-led Congress government completed about 70 per cent of the construction works. But, the BRS government could even complete the remaining 30 per cent work, he said.

The Congress leader questioned the BRS government on the fulfilment of the distribution of double-bedroom houses, three-acre land to Dalits and unemployment dole of '3,016. He wondered about the Chief Minister, who usually never gives his appointment to his MLAs, visiting the residence of Husnabad MLA. KCR should step in Husnabad only after he explained to the people what development he has done in the constituency.

Stating that the people wanted a change in the government, Ponnam promised the implementation of the six guarantees by the Congress, which realized its promise of separate Telangana.

He termed the suicide of government job aspirant Pravallika as a murder by the state government. He alleged that several unemployed youths and students were slipping into depression, ultimately leading to their suicides due to the irregularities in the conduct of examinations by the TSPSC.
