MSMEs in AP up from 37,956 to 60,800 under Jagan: MP
Vijayawada: YSR Congress Rajya Sabha MP Alla Ayodhya Rami Reddy on Wednesday underlined that after Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy formed the YSRC government, micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in AP have gone up from 37,956 to 60,800 units within mere three-and-a-half years.
Addressing a press conference, he refuted opposition Telugu Desam’s criticism pointing out that the MSME sector alone has provided employment to 5,61,235 people.
“Under the leadership of Jagan Mohan Reddy, the percentage of MSMEs has gone up by 60 percent, with the number of employees in the sector increasing by 38 percent in just three-and-a-half-year rule of YSRC government," Rami Reddy declared.
He said this is owing to government offering various subsidies through schemes, such as MSME Restart, YSR Jagananna Baduga Vikasam, Dr. YSR Navodayam, YSR Cheyutha and YSR Aasara initiatives. “MSMEs have been able to prosper despite the Covid pandemic," he maintained.
Slamming the opposition, the MP said Telugu Desam has no credibility to show what it has done for the state. “Today, I have proof to show what CM Jagan has done for Andhra Pradesh. Facts speak for themselves. In the last three-and-a-half years, IT companies, including Infosys, HCL, TechnoTask, iGen American Software, Techbull, Complex Systems, among others, have started operations in Visakhapatnam and in Tier-II cities of the state,” he stated.
Rami Reddy said TD regime had offered nothing to SC and STs. But YSRCP has promoted the marginalised under “YSR Jagananna Baduga Vikasam”. It released ₹347 crore to 5,725 MSME units of SC entrepreneurs and ₹66 crore to 1,138 MSME units of ST entrepreneurs.
“State government has also promoted women entrepreneurs by way of schemes such as YSR Cheyutha and YSR Aasara. ₹2,568 crore aid has been provided to 33.5 lakh beneficiaries through YSR Aasara and ₹3,356 crore to 17.89 lakh people under YSR Cheyutha,” the MP pointed out.
He further highlighted that Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB), chaired by the Chief Minister, has given nod to investments worth ₹1.26 lakh crore in July 2022, ₹23,985 crore in December 2022 and ₹1.44 lakh crore in January 2023. “Together, the board has approved investments worth ₹2.93 lakh crore,” Rami Reddy emphasised.
