Siddaramaiah should meet the same fate as Tipu, says minister
BENGALURU: Minister for higher education Dr Ashwathnarayan said Congress leader and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should meet the same fate as the ruler of Mysore Kingdom Tipu Sultan.
At a meeting with the party workers in Mandya on Wednesday, the BJP minister asked the audience “What should be done to Siddaramaiah?” and the attendees replied that “He (Siddaramaiah) should be sent back home.” The minister questioned the audience “Whom do you want Tipu or Savarkar?” and a few people from the audience replied “Savarkar.”
He posed another question “What did Nanjegowda and Urigowda do for Tipu?” and the minister himself said “same should be the fate of Siddaramaiah.”
The minister said, “Like Urigowda and Nanjegowda hacked Tipu, the same thing should be done for Siddaramaiah.” At the speech, Ashwathnarayan said, “If Tipu's name is taken then Siddaramaiah is quick to pounce.”
In his reaction to the minister’s statement, Siddaramaiah, on a social networking site, wanted a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai over the statement made by Minister Ashwathnarayan. Siddaramaiah also questioned the silence of the PM and CM and said “Should it be considered acceptance of the statement made by the Minister?”
Further, Siddaramaiah posted that minister Ashwathnarayan has become “mentally unstable” and asked the Chief Minister to initiate action against him for his statement and also to drop him from the ministry. Siddaramaiah wanted the minister to be arrested immediately.
Siddaramaiah asked “Why are you (Aswathnarayan) trying to instigate people?” and wanted the minister to “get the gun for yourself (to kill him).”
“I know Kannadigas are enraged over the statement by the minister,” he said and asked them “Not to harm him (Minister Ashwathnarayan).”
